Abu Saleh Mohammad Sowad is a social and cultural researcher whose work examines how transnational migration reshapes masculinities, with a focus on South Asian men in Canada. He is currently a Postdoctoral Fellow at the University of Victoria, working on MENBELONG, a five-country ERC-funded project on migrant men’s belonging and well-being. He completed his PhD in Social and Cultural Analysis at Concordia University with support from an FRQSC Doctoral Research Scholarship. Sowad also holds an MSc from the London School of Economics and an MSS and BSS from the University of Dhaka, where he has served as a faculty member. He has previously held research and consulting roles with organizations including ActionAid Bangladesh, NETZ, Oxfam, and USAID/Bangladesh.
