Research Chair on Gambling
Since its creation in 2012, the Research Chair on Gambling has been a hub for innovative research on gambling, risk and prevention.
In partnership with various sectors both national and international, it supports a multidisciplinary team of researchers.
About the Chair
Quebec’s first research chair on gambling, based at Concordia University. Learn what drives our work and who is behind it.
Our research
Gambling is a leisure activity for most people and a harmful one for some. Our prevention-focused research looks at it as part of everyday lifestyle behaviours.
HERMES
A team of researchers and clinicians studying hybrid forms of gambling, where video games and gambling blur together, and what they mean for individuals and communities.
CHANCE Collaboratory
A lab-based, participatory space where researchers examine how digital games and technologies shape player behaviour, to inform prevention and harm reduction.
Funding & career opportunities
Scholarships, fellowships and internships for students and emerging researchers, from undergraduate to postdoctoral level. The HERMES Scholarship Competition for 2026–27 is now open.
