Research

Access to extensive holdings of institutional documentation on Concordia University and its two founding institutions, Loyola College and Sir George Williams University. The Records Management and Archives Department is open to faculty, students, and staff of Concordia, and to external researchers, including the general public.

The Concordia University Records Management and Archives Department also collects, processes, preserves, and provides access to private archival fonds and collections which are related to the history of the University including the documents of faculty, staff members, and research centres.

Dissemination

Transmission of the institutional memory through Website and Digital Information Screens on both campuses.

Understanding the role of the Archivists in the University

Hosting classes

One-hour information session, available for Concordia classes arranged upon request by the professor, covering the following topics:

  • Overview of our department and our role in the University
  • Demystification of the role of the archivist
  • Archives Management Program, including description of our holdings

 

Visiting classes

Information session, available for Concordia classes arranged upon request by the professor on doing research in Records Management and Archives.
