Addictive Behaviour, Drugs, Anti-Smoking LegislationDr. Kairouz served as a Researcher at the department of Psychiatry at the Université de Montréal and at the Institut national de santé publique du Québec, where she currently is a scientific consultant. She has earned her PhD (1999) in Social Psychology from the Université de Montréal and completed a post-doctoral training jointly at the Groupe de recherche sur les aspects sociaux de la santé et de la prevention (Université de Montréal) and the Centre for Addiction and Mental Health (University of Toronto) with a residency at the Alcohol Research Group (University of California - Berkeley). Her funded research focuses on comprehensive multilevel models of determinants of addictive behaviours, dependence and co morbidity. Dr. Kairouz's projects are conducted with addiction and health surveys in Canada (CIHR, 2003-2006, co-investigator with E.M. Adlaf & A. Demers) as well as international databases, taking up a gendered perspective on drinking contexts and problems (CIHR, 2003-2007, co-investigator with K. Graham & A. Demers).
