Position Overview
As the EDI Coordinator you will support the Volt-Age program’s commitment to Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion (EDI), and coordinate the implementation of the Volt-Age EDI Action Plan. This position will report to the Director of Director of Engagement, Living Labs, and EDI – Volt-Age.
Responsibilities
- Support Volt-Age’s mandate to create an inclusive environment, aligned with CFREF’s EDI expectations as a member of the Volt-Age EDI team.
- Act as the main point of contact with the EDI Scientific Director and coordinate the engagement of the EDI Committee.
- Coordinate EDI climate surveys, self-identifications surveys, and EDI audits and support analysis.
- Support and coordinate all EDI training activities for the Volt-Age research community, research trainees, and administration.
- Support planning and implementing equitable capacity-building initiatives, including youth outreach, the Scholar-in-Residence program, a micro-certificate program on EDI, and other inclusive engagement activities.
- Foster collaboration and build connections with University units and individuals responsible for equity, diversity, and inclusion.
- Perform other duties in support of the unit as requested.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in a field related to primary responsibilities. Prior experience with Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion considered an asset.
- Strong proficiency in English and French (oral and written). Fluency in English and French considered an asset.
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively, to manage multiple priorities, and liaise with multiple stakeholders in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
- Knowledge of EDI literature and best practices, particularly in an academic environment.
- Strong commitment to equity, diversity, inclusion, and accessibility.
- Excellent planning and analytical skills, verbal and written communication skills, problem-solving skills, and attention to detail.
- Excellent organizational skills in order to effectively coordinate work, set and adhere to timelines, and prioritize.
- GBA+ Certification considered an asset.
