Oct. 15. Lecture by Harold Troper: "Playing Games with Nazi Germany"

OCT. 15, 2015 at 7:30 p.m. in H-736. A public lecture by HAROLD TROPER. The lecture is based on More than Just Games: Canada and the Nazi Olympics, written by Troper in partnership with Richard Menkis of the University of British Columbia. The talk will explore the backstory to Canadian participation in the 1936 Olympics in Nazi Germany and, in particular, the organized Canadian Jewish community’s failed campaign for a Canadian boycott of the Games. The lecture is free and open to the public and is generously sponsored by the by the Marvin A. Drimer Foundation.
