Stingers football punch their ticket to the RSEQ playoffs with win over Bishop’s
The Concordia Stingers are playoff-bound.
Concordia secured the fourth and final spot in the RSEQ playoffs with a convincing 31-17 victory over the Bishop’s Gaiters on Halloween Day at Concordia Stadium. The Stingers delivered a strong, balanced performance across all three phases of the game to close out the regular season on a high note.
Quarterback Glenn Valentine continued his strong play, completing 14 of 18 passes for 173 yards and a touchdown. The Stingers also found success on the ground, with running backs Samuel Roy and Bradly Parent combining for 134 rushing yards. Parent also made an impact in the passing game, leading all Stingers receivers with 55 yards on a single reception. Ély Rivest contributed 50 yards on four catches, including a touchdown. Rookie quarterback Charles Boulianne also made his mark, scoring the first rushing touchdown of his young Stingers career.
The Concordia defence was equally impressive, forcing four interceptions to bring its total to seven over the last two games.
Coslens Clairveaux continued his outstanding stretch, recording two interceptions for the second consecutive game. The performance brought his season total to four interceptions. Jonathan Mambila also came away with a pick, while Nelson Tawah recorded his second interception of the season.
Michael Aoun, the RSEQ's leading tackler this season, led all players with 7.5 tackles.
The victory brings Concordia's regular-season record to 3-5 and sends the Stingers into the postseason as the fourth seed.
