This event is the official forum/launch of the Environmentally Engaged Ideas competition. The competition calls for innovative ideas and principles for imagining and conceptualizing urban installations that, while responding to contemporary environmental concerns, will improve the living environment of citizens by proposing best long-term practices.
Specifically, this competition is intended to encourage innovative ideas for reinvigorating public spaces around bus stops. It is open to students and graduates of less than 5 years in the fields of architecture, design, landscape and urban design.
Participants are asked to propose ideas in the following categories:
(a) designs that are environmentally engaging; and
(b) a series of principles that could be adopted for future implementation in collaboration with the City of Montreal, the STM and private landowners.
This competition is organized by the Concordia University Research Chair in Integrated Design, Ecology, And Sustainability (IDEAS) for the Built Environment, in collaboration with Le conseil régional de l'environnement de Montréal and the Université de Montréal Research Chair for Competitions.
