Dear Concordians,

One of the best aspects of my job is reading all the mail I receive from proud alumni and friends of Concordia.

A couple of months ago I was especially pleased to get a letter from Rosalie Williams, great granddaughter of Sir George Williams, founder of the YMCA movement and namesake of our downtown campus. Her note was encouraging — she expressed her support and pride in what we’ve been doing for the past few years and the direction our community is taking together.

Ms. Williams is right — we have much to be proud of. This past year has been our best ever for research funding, for philanthropic donations and for university rankings in Canada and around the globe.

Together, as a community, we have all made this happen. Take pride in your role in making our university shine.

Pride is so central to our continued momentum that it’s one of our nine Strategic Directions, our ongoing broad consultation process to roadmap Concordia’s future.

You can direct your Concordia pride toward your alma mater’s mission of providing access to opportunity to improve our society for the next generation. To give directly to our students, donate to our Community Campaign.

Wishing you and your family a wonderful holiday season and all the best in the New Year,

Alan Shepard
President
