Concordia's Administrative and Support Staff Tribunal seeks one new member

Now is your chance to get involved! Concordia's Administrative and Support Staff Tribunal is seeking one new member to join the Tribunal, elected in accordance with the Election Procedures (BD-12).

If you are a member of Concordia's administrative and support staff, this is your opportunity to add your name to the candidate list to be a member of the Administrative and Support Staff Tribunal.

The Tribunal members from the Administrative and Support Staff have one hearing per year (with one hearing usually being 1.5-4 hours, and about 3 hours total required in the days before and after the hearing for the panelist to independently review the materials for the hearing and to review and approve of the decision following the hearing). The mandate is for 2 years and shall be renewable.

The relevant provision for the membership of the Tribunal Pools is Section 9 of BD-6.

Eligibility and procedure

The candidates, nominators and all endorsers must be:

  • Members of Concordia's administrative and support staff
  • Permanent, active employees
  • Full- or part-time employees
  • Employed by a unit other than the Office of the Secretary-General and the General Counsel, the Office of Student Tribunals, the Ombuds Office, the Student Advocacy Office and the Office of Rights and Responsibilities

To be considered to serve on the Tribunal, candidates must submit:

  • pen sketch form that includes information about why they are interested in serving on the Tribunal

The nomination form must be:

  • Signed by the candidate
  • Signed by the nominator
  • Endorsed by five additional administrative and support staff members

Deadline to submit nominations is January 24, 2024

Submit nominations and pen sketch forms to the attention of Carolina Willsher, Associate Vice-President of Human Resources, by email at officeoftheavphr@concordia.ca no later than 5 p.m. on Wednesday, January 24, 2024.

Interview

If the Electoral College needs more information from a candidate, an interview will be scheduled during its next meeting, the week of January 29, 2023, normally between 1:00 and 5:00 p.m.
