PhD Candidate Wins Water Quality Research Award

Sasan Fazeli is a PhD candidate in the Department of Building, Civil and Environmental Engineering.

Sasan Fazeli, PhD candidate, won the Philip H. Jones Award from the Canadian Association on Water Quality at the 33rd Eastern Canadian Symposium on Water Quality Research.

Trying to improve water and wastewater treatment processes, he was recognized for his research work on identifying the organic by-products formation, with controlling and minimizing them, after removing emerging contaminant in water with UV-H2O2 advanced oxidation processes technology.

He’s supervised by professor Maria Elektorowicz from the Department of Building, Civil and Environmental Engineering.
