Democracy, Communal Governance and Social Welfare in Winnipeg's Jewish Community, 1903-1926

The Concordia University Institute for Canadian Jewish Studies is pleased to announce a Public Lecture by Professor Arthur Ross, Ryerson University

The presentation will take place on Tuesday, February 4, at 7:30 P.M. in the Religions and Cultures Department Seminar Room (R-103, 2050 McKay Street, Metro: Guy-Concordia).  Light refreshments will be served.  This lecture is sponsored by the Marvin A. Drimer Foundation.

The author of Communal Solidarity: Immigration, Settlement, and Social Welfare in Winnipeg's Jewish Community, 1882-1930 (2019), until his recent retirement Arthur Ross was a professor in the Department of Politics and Public Administration at Ryerson University where he taught courses in Canadian politics, social policy and immigration studies. 

The son of Jewish immigrants from Ukraine, he was born and raised in Winnipeg's North End, the historic centre of Jewish settlement and communal solidarity.
