The Borneo Case Film Screening and Panel Discussion

A documentary film on deforestation, corruption and money laundering. The film will be followed by a panel discussion with film protagonists and Indigenous activists from Sarawak, Borneo and Switzerland.

This film was produced by Erik Pauser & Dylan Williams, who spent five years intimately following the trail of an unlikely group
of activists (from Canada, UK, Switzerland, and Sarawak) whose aim is to investigate how profits from illegal logging in the Borneo rainforest have ended up in portfolios all around the world, including Canada.

This screening is part of a Canadian campaign in 3 major cities, Montreal, Ottawa & Toronto highlighting ongoing legal steps to fight corruption.

This event is brought to you by the Karl Polanyi Institute of Political Economy, the Bruno Manser Fonds for the peoples of the rainforest , the Réseau de recherche et de connaissance relatives aux peoples autochtones Dialog, and the Loyola Sustainability Research Centre and is part of First Voices Week at Concordia University.
