Emilie Contant

Emilie Contant is a current MA student in the department of Art History at Concordia University located in Montréal / Tiohtià:ke. She graduated with distinction with a Bachelor's of Fine Arts, majoring in Art History and Film Studies, also from Concordia University.

Emilie's research focuses on Canadian and Indigenous art history from the nineteenth century to the present day. She explores the evolving representations of the Canadian landscape and nature, spanning from the era of the Group of Seven to the contemporary art scene. Emilie also investigates how social movements such as feminism and environmentalism have reshaped artistic depictions of the natural world.
