Three Stingers finish first at Concordia Invitational wrestling tournament

The Concordia Stingers wrestling team had a strong showing at the Concordia Invitational, with three wrestlers finishing first in their respective weight classes.

Alexia Sherland captured first place in the women’s 76 kg weight class, while teammate Leigh Gow earned a third-place finish at 68 kg.

On the men’s side, Connor Rooney dominated his competition in the 76 kg division, winning all three of his matches without surrendering a single point to his opponents.

Stone Lewis also claimed gold, winning the 72 kg weight class while giving up just one point across his three matches.

Tristan Sears rounded out the Stingers’ results with a fourth-place finish in the 61 kg weight class.

The results highlighted a strong performance on home mats for the Stingers, who claimed three weight-class titles at their own invitational.
