End of summer events & looking forward to fallIt’s late summer—classes, work and research for some of us, time off for others! We’ve got a slate of summer events through the end of August—catch a last movie with us, get outside for a walk, or help out in the VA gardens! Or stop by our drop-in centre for tea, coffee and conversation at Spirituali-tea every Tuesday. We’re all getting ready to welcome new students to Concordia! We’ll be welcoming incoming students to our events all month, and will be at CONNECT Orientation and the Res Life welcome days just before classes start. If you’re an incoming student, check out and register for Orientation; if you’re a returning student, get ready to welcome new folks on campus and share your best Concordia tips. |

At ConcordiaThe Equity Office Beyond the Label: An Introduction to 2SLGBTQIA+ Identities Monday, August 24, 2-3 p.m. Creating a campus where everyone can fully participate begins with good intentions, but real transformation takes understanding the identities, language, and realities that shape how people move through shared spaces. This interactive workshop invites university students to move beyond the label and explore the many identities gathered under the 2SLGBTQIA+ umbrella, as lived experiences that show up in classrooms, intake forms, washrooms, and social life. Join us for Chai, Coffee & Change: Percolating New Perspectives Thursday, August 27, 2 – 4 p.m. This informal gathering is an open forum for students, staff and faculty to discuss equity, diversity, inclusion and accessibility in post-secondary education. Feel free to drop by anytime during the two-hour event to meet the Equity Office team and other members of the Concordia community, share your perspectives, and engage in meaningful conversations. Whether you're passionate about EDI or simply curious, you are welcome to join us for coffee, snacks, and dialogue. Explore New Microprograms in Religions and Cultures! Religious, Cultural and Ethnic Literacy equips learners with the tools to navigate an increasingly diverse world. Through diverse perspectives, participants develop intercultural compentence, cultural humility, and a deeper understanding of the beliefs, identities, and experiences that shape contemporary communities. Especially relevant for those working in education, healthcare, social services, human resources, and other people-centered fields. Jewish Studies offers an engaging introduction to Jewish history, culture, literature, thought, and contemporary life. Taught by leading scholars in the field, this microprogram is ideal for Jewish adults interested in deepening their understanding of their heritage, as well as anyone seeking to learn more about Judaism and the diverse experiences of Jewish communities. Spiritual Worlds (launching soon) is designed for those interested in contemporary spirituality, new religious movements, yoga, meditation, and alternative spiritual practices. Learners will explore diverse spiritual traditions and develop a critical understanding of the intersections between religion, culture, spirituality, and contemporary society. Whether you're interested in culture and identity, Jewish thought and history, or contemporary spirituality and meditation, these flexible programs offer a chance to explore the ideas, communities and practices shaping our world today. Current Concordia undergraduate students interested in similar topics may wish to explore the Minor in Religions and Cultures. |

Try out an Interfaith Photovoice workshop for free, facilitated by a member of the team—the next one is on Gratitude on August 25. Reserve your seat on their website. During the meeting you will share photos about a pre-selected topic and the ways you experience it in everyday life. The goal is to introduce you to our work by experiencing it. |
