Here comes summer! As the weather changes, many students have their schedules change along with it. Some students leave Montreal to visit family, while others begin to search for employment to fill their summer months. For me, like many students, summer is both an exciting time and a time filled with stressors. Employment opportunities seem scarce, and the pressure to save money for the following school year brings financial anxiety. Concordia, in efforts to mitigate the effects of financial insecurity on the student body, offers several resources. Students receiving financial loans are often candidates for the work-study program, which provides jobs to students on campus. HOJO offers housing and job resources, and the Financial Aid and Awards Office has many scholarships, bursaries and awards open for application. Without some work-life balance, you will burn out and no longer be able to show up to work. It’s important to remember to periodically rest, be out in nature, see friends, or whatever else brings you joy! Lucy |
