SHIFT Gateway Program: Discover 5 newly funded projects

Community-led efforts to change narratives and break systems

Photo: Brick x Brick

The second round of calls for applications for the Gateway program closed earlier this spring. Once again, we invited teams leading efforts across Montreal to submit their projects for the opportunity to receive a $5,000 grant and join the Horizons Learning Journey.

We are pleased to reveal the 5 new projects joining the SHIFT community.
All teams tackle different systems of inequity, injustice, and unsustainability with the hope of creating a more just, inclusive and broadly prosperous Montreal!

Our team is growing – SHIFT welcomes 4 staff members

Meet the new (and familiar!) faces of the team

Andrea, Susan, Emma, Claire Gaëlle, Stephanie, Elisabeth, Shin Ling, Rosemary - Missing: Richenda & Maeva

Over the summer, we said goodbye to a former member and welcomed new staff into the team. Andrea Clarke, former Senior Director of Community Engagement and Social Impact (SHIFT and the OCE), left Concordia to pursue a new role as the Chagnon Foundation’s Chief Executive Officer.

Until the search for a new director is successful, Susan Edey will be serving as Interim Director. Susan has been contributing to SHIFT since its inception, and most recently in the role of Interim Senior Program Manager.

You may recognize them… please welcome our new colleagues!

  • Emma Harake – Space and Events Coordinator
  • Richenda Grazette – Funding Program Coordinator
  • Shin Ling Low – Internship Assistant
  • Maeva Ramboni – Social Media Assistant

The SHIFT Ongoing Connections Grant (OCG) provides additional financial support to projects that have already been funded by SHIFT. Over the last year, SHIFT allocated a total of $35,000 to seven teams to continue their community-led efforts for social transformation.

Joins us in celebrating their work!
