In an effort to support a paperless environment, we will no longer mail a paper copy of the record of employment (used for Employment Insurance (EI) applications) to employees when they have an interruption of earnings.
Since Concordia files its ROEs electronically, Service Canada does not require us to mail a copy to individuals or for individuals to send a copy to Service Canada. When an application for EI is made, Service Canada uses the electronic ROE that we send them to process the claim. Applications for EI must be made as soon as you stop working.
