Convocation serves as an opportunity for Concordia's community to come together and celebrate our shared commitment to academic excellence.
Invitation
Members of Concordia’s faculty and staff are invited to participate in Convocation as part of the platform party. The platform party sits on stage for the program's duration. Serving in this capacity is a wonderful way to support graduates and celebrate Concordia.
Register to participate
Six to eight weeks prior to every Convocation, faculty and staff receive an email with detailed instructions on how to register to be part of the platform party.
Receiving this email does not guarantee your eligibility to participate. Graduate teaching assistants, casual employees and sessional instructors are not eligible. Only full-time faculty and staff may participate. If you are interested, please contact convocation@concordia.ca.
Attending the platform party
For information on where and when to arrive at Place des Arts on the day of the ceremony you will be attending, refer to the confirmation email you will receive after having registered.
As part of the platform party registration, you may either indicate that you will be bringing your own academic regalia or may submit details to rent a gown and/or hood. A standard black gown will be provided. Hoods for Canadian universities may be available. For international institutions, a suitable replacement hood will be provided.
