The holiday shopping season has begun! Concordia Library is offering a great way to buy gifts for loved ones while helping those in need.

You’ll have the chance to bid on crafts, antiques, jewellery, objets d'art and holiday-themed items at the 27th edition of the Library Christmas Auction. Also up for grabs is a Montréal Canadiens hockey stick signed by the 2015/16 team!

Lunch available onsite: For $10, you'll get a meal including a selection of salads, main dishes, desserts and beverages. This year, we're committed to making a special effort to compost or recycle all food waste and packaging.

All proceeds will help support various community organizations including: Auberge Madeleine, Can Serve Foundation, Chez Doris, CODE (Canadian Organization for Development through Education), Dans la Rue, the Montreal Gazette Christmas Fund, Operation Eyesight Universal, Oxfam, Sun Youth and the Women's Centre of Montréal.

Here at Concordia, the sales contribute to the Centre for the Arts in Human Development (CAHD), the Multi-faith and Spiritual Centre’s Student Emergency and Food Fund, and Financial Aid and Awards.

For a list of items and to learn more, visit the auction’s Facebook page.

“The auction is a fun event that brings the Concordia community together for a great cause,” said Faye Corbin, chair of the organizing committee. “The fact that we can help others in our community by attending an auction and spending as little as two dollars is something special. Our volunteers and sponsors are wonderful people who care.”
