Meet Karen MacDonald, BA 82, station manager and news director at Global News Montreal.

Who better to guide the next generation than their alumni predecessors? In these small-group roundtable conversations, we invite accomplished alumni to meet with members of the graduating class and share expertise, inspiration and practical knowhow on taking the next steps into the workplace. It's part mentoring, part interview session, all knowledge!

Karen MacDonald

Karen MacDonald, BA (Comm Studies) 82, is the station manager and news director at Global News Montreal. She's a Quebec City anglo with roots in Prince Edward Island. One of her first visits to Montreal was to attend Concordia, where she earned a BA in Communications. She then returned to her beloved Quebec City, vowing never to leave again. Karen and her husband were the owner/publishers of North America's oldest newspaper, the Quebec Chronicle-Telegraph for nearly 15 years. She began working at CKMI in 1986 as a reporter, anchor and then eventually station manager. She moved to Montreal in 2006. She's a long standing volunteer with Centraide-United Way and currently sits on their executive committee. Karen is also Mom to 15 year old twins.
