A puppy on a blanket with a soft toy monkey. The Centraide Pet Photo Contest, won last year by the loveable Nala, is back this year.

Who’s got the most adorable pet at Concordia? Let the competition begin!

Through the Centraide Pet Photo Contest, members of the university community can make the case for their own or their fellow Concordians’ awwwe-inducing furry, scaly or feathered friend while also contributing to the university’s Centraide 2023 Campaign.

This year’s campaign has a goal of $200,000 and runs until November 17. Funds raised support Centraide of Greater Montreal, which lends invaluable assistance to 375 agencies and projects and more than 800,000 people on the island, in Laval and on the South Shore.

Those ready to make their case for cutest Concordia pet can submit a photo of their animal companion — or companions — along with a $10-donation for each submission by November 3 at 5 p.m.

A link to all cuddly-critter photo submissions will be emailed to staff and faculty to vote on their favourite(s) from November 8 to 15, with winners to be announced at the campaign’s closing event on November 29. Prizes for top dogs — or cats, birds, small pets or even large pets — include a $100-gift card from Mondou.

Plenty of way to contribute

The Pet Photo Contest is just one of the several ways for Concordians to contribute to the Centraide campaign.

Others include the always-popular pasta lunches. $17 will get eaters a plate of pasta with meat or vegan sauce, salad, a roll, beverage and dessert.

There are also bake sales:

Please remember to bring cash — and arrive early to be sure to get the home-made goodies before they sell out.

And don’t miss the return of Comedy for a Cause with headliner John Roy, who’s appeared on The Tonight ShowConan and The Late Late Show:

  • November 30: Comedy for a Cause
    Headliner: John Roy
The Comedy Nest, 2313 Ste. Catherine St. W. (Pepsi Forum), 3rd floor, 8 p.m.
$15, open to those 18 or older from the Concordia community along with their friends and family

Other events are being organized through departments and faculties. Visit the Concordia Centraide 2023 Campaign website for news and event updates.

Of course, it’s still important to consider making a tax-deductible contribution or increasing your previous campaign donation.

Pledge your gift to Centraide today. Online giving is secure and easy. Look for a giving link in your email inbox from info@email.centraide-mtl.org beginning October 12.
