The search for Concordia’s next dean of the Faculty of Arts and Science is underway.

In September 2019, students, faculty and staff participated in a confidential survey to outline the selection criteria for the position.

It’s now time to take a moment to review and comment on the position profile that was informed by Concordians in the September survey.

The deadline to submit comments on the position profile is December 2. Concordians are encouraged to send remarks by email to Andrea Renaud, coordinator of administration for the university secretariat.

“The Faculty of Arts and Science is Concordia’s largest, with more than 16,500 undergraduate students, 2,300 graduate students and 279 programs,” says Anne Whitelaw, interim provost and vice-president, academic, who is also chairing the search committee.

“The role of dean is key to advancing Concordia’s vison, articulating faculty needs and serving as a tireless ambassador for both the university and the faculty. Selecting the right candidate will have a significant positive influence on students, teaching and research. The comments from Concordians are key to this process.”
