Whether your focus is food, waste, transport or another sustainability issue, there’s a good chance that Sustainability Action Week has something for you.

Coordinated by Concordia’s Office of Sustainability, this first-ever series features activities planned by students, staff and faculty members.

The goal of the week is to inform, celebrate and participate in sustainability action. It’s a chance to learn how you can do more within the university community and beyond.

On the last day, some students will go far beyond, taking part in the major climate march in Montreal on September 27. In recognition of the unique importance of the event, the university has cancelled classes that Friday from 11:45 a.m. to 4 p.m.

A number of staff and faculty members will also attend the climate march as part of a special Concordia Shuffle group. Participants and supporters are raising money for a sustainability-based scholarship.

Something for everyone

During Sustainability Action Week, Concordia is partnering with Vélo Québec to host Campus à Vélo. There will also be opportunities to sample fresh, local foods during Eat Local Day. To get a sense of the breadth of sustainability issues being tackled by university community members, check out the Sustainability Fair.

Most of the events will be listed on Concordia event pages and through the Sustainability Hub. In some cases, registration is required. For others, you can just show up. All events are free!
