Concordia’s President, Alan Shepard, took the ALS Ice Bucket Challenge on August 27 after a double nomination from Norman Hébert Jr., chair of Concordia’s Board of Governors, and by students in Concordia’s District 3 Centre for Innovation and Entrepreneurship.

Other Concordians have taken the challenge, including the Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry. The Stingers men’s football team raised more than $2,500 for research into the deadly disease.

UPDATE: On August 28, Steve Harvey, dean of the John Molson School of Business, accepted a challenge from District 3 as well. Watch the video on Facebook.

To keep the momentum going, Shepard nominated the presidents of both the Graduate Students’ Association and the Concordia Student Union, Houda Madnoune and Benjamin Prunty, as well as former colleague Nowell Donovan, provost and vice-chancellor for Academic Affairs at Texas Christian University.

President Shepard donated to the cause and encourages you to do the same.
