Concordia to present position on Bill 60
Concordia will be the first Quebec university to present its position on Bill 60 before the National Assembly.
The university was informed that it will address the hearings on the so-called Charter of Secular Values (the charter that affirms the values of state secularism, religious neutrality and equality between women and men, and provides a framework for accommodation requests) on January 23 at 2 p.m.
Benoit-Antoine Bacon, provost and vice-president of Academic Affairs, and Roger Côté, vice-president of Services, will address the hearing. The format of the commission allows for a 10-minute presentation followed by 50-minute question period. The presentation will be based on the position taken by the university after consultation within the Concordia community.
