This morning, Wednesday, November 14, Concordia’s Office of Emergency Management and the Montreal Fire department will be carrying out a simulation of an emergency situation.

The university community can expect to see several fire trucks on campus and a building will be evacuated as part of the response. Darren Dumoulin, senior advisor for Concordia’s emergency management office, says further details of the exercise are being kept a secret to most involved, and the information will only be shared just prior to the exercise occurring.

Later this afternoon, The Office of Emergency Management will be conducting another exercise involving the Concordia Emergency Response Team volunteers (CERT). “We will be simulating a Campus search and evacuation at Loyola using CERT,” Dumoulin says. “This exercise will not involve the fire department and will not affect university operations but the University Community can expect to see several teams of CERT, walking through buildings and around campus.”
