Additional make-up day added to fall term

Concordia adds make-up day on December 5 to make up for classes not being offered on September 4 as a result of provincial elections

Quebec election legislation requires that students be given the day off in order to vote on election day. Although Concordia remains open on September 4, all classes and other academic activities on that day have been cancelled.

The first day of classes for the fall term will be Wednesday, September 5, 2012.

Consequently, an additional make-up class day has been added to the fall term calendar. Tuesday, December 4 will become the make-up date for classes normally scheduled on September 4.  Wednesday, December 5 will now become the make-up day for Monday, October 8 (Thanksgiving).

Professors who wish to schedule a make-up class(es) may do so by contacting Academic Scheduling Assistant Carol Plathan at 514-848-2424, ext. 2620 or by email at carol.plathan@concordia.ca. Given the volume of requests, please don't expect an immediate response.

Exams now begin on December 6.

As a reminder, on September 4 polls are open from 9:30 a.m. to 8 p.m. Concordia employees whose regular work schedules are from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. must be permitted to leave work on September 4 at 4 p.m., so they can have the required four clear hours to vote.

Change in deadline

Students should note that the deadline for the add-drop courses with tuition refund (DNE) has been changed from September 17 to September 18.
