Addressing questions about the university's response to blockage of classes

Following a message sent Friday, March 23, questions have been raised about the university’s response to ongoing blockages and disruptions of classes by students protesting the announced increase in tuition fees.

While the university remains determined to accommodate the peaceful expression of divergent views within our community, it is no longer possible to tolerate the further disruption of university activities by a minority of protesters who refuse to respect the rights of others. Faculty members and staff have the right to carry out their professional duties, and students have the right to attend their classes and pursue their academic activities.
