Each year CAUBO's annual conference is hosted by one of its member universities, and this year is Concordia’s turn. The conference, held from June 16 to 19, 2012, usually draws about 600 and features prominent keynote and plenary speakers, numerous track sessions and various social events which will showcase Montreal's unique hospitality.

Volunteers are a critical part of the conference’s success. They act as ambassadors for the host university and facilitate delegates’ participation in the conference. Conference attendees often tell CAUBO that volunteers greatly enhance their conference experience.

A number of different volunteer positions available. Volunteer tasks and responsibilities will include:

  • directing delegates to the appropriate meeting rooms
  • providing general information regarding the conference and Montreal
  • stuffing delegate bags and name badge holders with conference materials
  • greeting speakers and providing any required assistance
  • supporting event coordinators during receptions and social events
  • directing delegates to shuttle buses, advising delegates of bus schedules
  • providing general information and support at social events and receptions

Excellent communications skills are essential for all volunteer positions. Bilingualism in French and English is also an asset.
