Mike Babin has been named Director of Infrastructure and Operations for Instructional and Information Technology Services (IITS).

Responsible for the management of data and infrastructure services — from authentication and security protection to email and file management systems — Babin will support Concordia’s network, telecommunication, server and storage infrastructure.

“Mike’s proven track record of planning, managing and successfully implementing a variety of major initiatives at Concordia over the past 25 years — combined with his heightened ability to lead and coordinate a team — makes him the perfect candidate for the position,” says Chief Information Officer Marc Denoncourt.

Babin began his career at the university as Communications Analyst, followed by Network Analyst, and within six years had worked his way up to Manager of Office Technology Support, followed by Manager of Data Communications and Desktop Support. In Babin’s most recent position as Assistant Director of Data Communications he was responsible for leading the implementation of both the university’s wireless network and the voice-over-IP telephone system.

Babin holds a graduate diploma in computer science and a bachelor’s degree in biochemistry, both from Concordia University.
