Alan Hochstein named Interim Dean of John Molson School of Business

Hochstein will lead the John Molson School of Business while a search is conducted for a new dean.

Provost David Graham announces the appointment of Alan Hochstein as Interim Dean of the John Molson School of Business for a one-year period while a search is conducted to name a new dean for the school.

Hochstein will serve from July 1, 2011, until June 30, 2012, or until the appointment of a new dean takes effect, whichever is earlier.

Hochstein is presently the Associate Dean, Graduate Programs and Director MBA Program and GDBA/GCBA Programs. He has held several positions in the school including Director, Investment Management MBA Program, Director, Executive MBA Program and Director, Professional MBA Program as well as Associate Vice-Rector, Academic, over a 25-year career at the university.

In announcing Hochstein’s appointment, Provost Graham says, “Alan Hochstein clearly has wide support in the Faculty, and I am confident that he will provide the leadership needed to guide JMSB successfully through the next stages of the reaccreditation process as we search for the next dean. I look forward to working with him.”

Hochstein holds a BComm from Sir George Williams University and an MA and PhD in Economics from McGill University.
