The MyConcordia portal has a new landing page for students and faculty and staff members that features the latest news and events and links to key academic and campus resources and service departments.

“The portal homepage redesign is the first step toward building a university intranet for faculty and staff and extranet (password-protected website) for students,” says Web Communications Director Lucy Niro.

The portal is set to become a university intranet for faculty and staff and extranet (password-protected website) for students.

“In the coming months, we will undertake a major project that begins with the development of an employee intranet that is based on a robust, university-wide, web content management system. We will consult with the internal community to determine the type of content, features and tools they need to complete their work, and to create a forum for discussions and for the exchange and transfer of knowledge. This is all in an effort to inspire a sense of ownership and community and to enrich campus life.”

Human Resources (HR), Student Services and Facilities Management will be collaborating to create a stronger presence on the intranet. HR has kicked off a project to improve its communication and enhance its offerings on both the public website and MyConcordia.

“We are aiming to provide more information and increased offerings that will be promoted on the portal homepage,” says Carolina Willsher, Associate Vice-President Human Resources. “It is part of a broader HR effort to be proactive and reflect the needs of the internal community. We envision the portal and eventual intranet as the hub of our daily campus life.”
