Forces AVENIR is a non-profit organization that aims to recognize, honour and promote the activities of young people engaged in their community. As in previous years, a total of 33 individuals and projects will be selected and winners will receive an AVENIR trophy and share grants totalling $114,000.

Televised vignettes about each award recipient will also be broadcast on the RDI (Réseau de l’information) channel.

The program targets students who have demonstrated ingenuity, determination and leadership, promoted a cause involving peers, or participated in a project that had a significant impact on society.

Students at Concordia who wish to compete are invited to submit their applications (available at the Forces AVENIR website below) to the Dean of Students Office, H-637, Henry F. Hall Building (1455 De Maisonneuve Blvd. W.), 514-848-2424, ext. 7960, no later than March 31, 2011.

Visit the Forces AVENIR site to find out more about the program and categories for competitions. The site features photos and videos of the winners and finalists from previous years and download the application guide.

Concordia has been among the finalists several times and won awards in 2003, 2004, 2007, 2008 (two awards), 2009 and 2010.
