Danielle Aimée Miles (MA Art History) and Lambert Gagné-Coulombe (BFA Major Art History) have been selected as recipients of the 2018-2019 Elspeth McConnell Fine Arts Award. The award, granted through the late McConnell’s Doggone Foundation, aids students in the Faculty of Fine Arts in gaining experience in their fields by funding internships at local institutions such as museums, galleries, and artist-run centres.

Miles’ internship, at the Montreal Museum of Fine Arts, will research creative and intercultural modes of display as the museum reinstalls its World Cultures collections, focusing primarily on the Greco-Roman antiquities displays.

Lambert Gagné-Coulombe’s internship at the Jewish Museum of Montreal took place over the Summer and involved contributions to the museum’s oral history collection as well as researching the history of Montreal’s radical Peretz Schule. Gagné-Coulombe’s work for this internship is slated to be exhibited in Spring/Summer 2019.
