Music associate professor Jeri Brown has been nominated for a 2012 East Coast Music Award (ECMA) for Jazz Recording of the Year for her solo album Storytelling, featuring Woody Woods on piano. Storytelling is a soul-packed project featuring Brown's original compositions plus her unique renditions of Canadian classics You Needed Me, Both Sides Now, Until It's Time for You to Go and Hallelujah.
Brown will also participate as a judge in the ECMA competition and televised show, judging gospel and world music. The 2012 ECMA awards ceremony will take place in Moncton, New Brunswick from April 11 to 15, 2012.
