Accolades – January 2020


Joint work between Dr. Poullis and B. Chatterjee on semantic segmentation of buildings from satellite images is top-ranked in AIRS's benchmark competition (Aerial Image for Roof Segmentation) in November 2019. 


Dr. Poullis's PhD student M. Pourmemar was the recipient of VRCAI 2019 Diversity and Inclusion scholarship sponsored by Disney Research for their work on ”Visualizing and Interacting with Hierarchical Menus in Immersive Augmented Reality”. 

Two papers from Dr. Shang and his doctoral students have been accepted and will be presented at the 42nd International Conference on Software Engineering (ICSE 2020).The two papers are:

Maxime Lamothe , Weiyi Shang. When APIs are Intentionally Bypassed: An Exploratory Study of API Workarounds. The 42nd International Conference on Software Engineering (ICSE 2020).

Zishuo Ding, Jinfu Chen, Weiyi Shang. Towards the Use of the Readily Available Tests from the Release Pipeline as Performance Tests. Are We There Yet? The 42nd International Conference on Software Engineering (ICSE 2020).

Dr. Guéhéneuc and his post-doctoral students Rodrigo Morales and Rubén Saborido recently had their paper accepted for publication in top software engineering journal IEEE Transactions on Software Engineering. To learn more, visit here.

In the category of Software Engineering research,  Concordia University is ranked 2nd in Canada, 10th in North America, and 20th in the world.

Dr. Brigitte Jaumard has been named a Global Research Fellow at the University of Fortaleza, Brazil.

Dr. Jaumard has also been awarded a 1.4M project with EXFO (MITACS) for the next 5 years.

Drs Jaumard and Glatard have been awarded a 1.4M project with EXFO (MITACS) for the next 5 years on Detection and Prediction of Network Vulnerabilities with Machine Learning Models and Algorithms. 

Dr Rigby and Ehsan Mirsaeedi will present their paper "Turnover with Code Review Recommendation: Balancing Expertise, Workload, and Knowledge Distribution" at the upcoming 42nd International Conference on Software Engineering (ICSE 2020).
