Dr. Sheryl Lightfoot is professor of Indigenous Studies and Political Science at the University of British Columbia where she also serves as Senior Advisor on Indigenous Affairs to UBC President. Dr. Lightfoot holds the Canada Research Chair in Global Indigenous Rights and Politics. She has written extensively on the politics of Indigenous peoples-settler relations in Canada and around the world. She is the author of Global Indigenous Politics: A Subtle Revolution (Routledge, 2016). Dr. Lightfoot is Anishinaabe and a citizen of Lake Superior Band of Ojibwe.
