Law Meets Engineering series

Concordia University Jurist-in-Residence, Morton S. Minc, cordially invites you to an evening in conversation with Me Jean-Bernard Dehaut, attorney in construction law.

The speaker will address general principles that apply when a construction material price fluctuation occurs, depending on the type of contract at hand.

For cost-plus contracts (including in cases of modifications to other types of contracts), applicable rules and exceptions will be assessed.

For lump sum price contracts, the speaker will review the main rule, namely article 2109 of the Civil Code of Quebec, as well as costs incurred because of an error or of an omission from the owner.

As for the unit price contract, a review will be made of the distinctions in comparison with a lump sum price contract.

Students, faculty members and staff in the Gina Cody School of Engineering and Computer Science, lawyers, and the general public are invited to attend.

This event will be held virtually on Zoom.

Advance registration on Eventbrite is mandatory.
