The Southern Asia Studies Student Symposium features emerging scholars in Montreal working on diverse research projects related to South and Southeast Asia.
The 14 students will represent four institutions - Concordia University, McGill University, Université de Montréal, and Université du Québec à Montréal – and showcase the innovative and rich scholarship that uses interdisciplinary and creative approaches and methods.
The papers are organized by three themes:
Politics and Place
Expressive Materialities
Nationalism and Publics
We welcome everyone to engage with and encourage our emerging scholars at the symposium, which will be followed by a reception from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. at Brutopia, 1219 rue Crescent.
