CCRH research incorporates a broad range of health psychology topics, including:
the impact of stress on immune functioning
pediatric cardiovascular behavioural medicine
the use of active agent models to study impact of public health policies
the etiology of young adult heavy and problem alcohol use
the problems and processes associated with fear and anxiety disorders
workplace stress and health, and the cultural shaping of psychopathology
The CCRH consists of an extensive group of active members who conduct health research across biological, psychological, and sociocultural levels of understanding well-being. Members are united in their focus on people who suffer from, or are at risk for, physical and mental illness.
Recent work from the core members' labs will be presented during symposia.
Roundtable discussions centered around theoretical and methodological issues will be led by core members, providing opportunities for informal Q&A and discussion.
In the afternoon, students from CCRH labs will hold a poster session during which time posters will be judged and prizes awarded.
The conference is held to showcase the research of the core members and to engage both undergraduate and graduate students in presenting symposia and posters of the research done in their respective labs.
