This is a posting for a 12-month Limited Term appointment in Systematic/Contextual Theology and Spirituality, in the Department of Theological Studies.
Limited-term Faculty members at Concordia are full-time faculty members whose primary duties include teaching and service, with no research obligations.
Qualifications and assets
Applicants should hold a PhD in Theology or in a related area (religious studies). They should have a strong competency in Systematic Theology as well as in Contextual Theology and Spirituality. Applicants should make clear where their primary and secondary expertise lies. Strong candidates will have demonstrated excellence in undergraduate teaching, and have familiarity with equity, anti-racism, diversity, and inclusion in the classroom.
Candidates are encouraged to share any career interruptions or personal circumstances that may have had an impact on their career goals in their letter of application. Concordia University is an English-language institution of higher learning at which the primary language of instruction and research is English. Since this position supports academic functions of the university, proficiency in English is required. Working knowledge of French, including reading and grading student work in French, is an asset.

The Department of Theological Studies is dedicated to training professional theologians and researchers while expanding the horizons of those who wish to appreciate their heritage. The Department offers five main areas of concentrations: Scripture, History, Systematics, Christian Ethics and Pastoral Care and is home to five programs: a BA Honours/Major/Minor in Theological Studies, a Certificate in Pastoral Care and a Master of Arts in Theological Studies.
