Monthly reflection: Setting up for successAs the weather changes from the hot summer months into a damp fall, many students have trouble striking a balance between school and personal life. This careful balance is complicated by jobs, family responsibilities, , friends, club activities and keeping on top of seemingly never-ending piles of laundry and dishes. Finding your flow while managing your responsibilities can turn overwhelming quickly, especially when the urge to procrastinate kicks in. Through all the noise, it’s important to find a system that allows you to take care of key tasks, while also making time to care for your personal needs, self-care, hobbies, seeing friends or family, and maybe watching a show to take a break from a reading. Small actions of self-love give your brain a deeply needed rest, ultimately helping you perform better in other areas of life. Take this as a reminder not only to prioritize the sometimes daunting responsibilities of tutelage and adulthood, but also the act of self-care! Lucy |
