Student Services is comprised of the following units who work together to deliver services, programs and outreach initiatives:
 

Laura Mitchell

Laura Mitchell

Director, Student Success Centre, and Interim Executive Director, Student Services

Laura oversees a support network of professional staff and trained student employees who engage and support all Concordia students through their university journey to improve academically and professionally.

Her aim is that students have the resources and opportunities to transition well into their new level of studies at Concordia, to meet any challenges in their academics, and plan confidently for and develop the professional skills they need for their career after university.

Gaya Arasaratnam

Gaya Arasaratnam
Director, Campus Wellness and Support Services

Gaya oversees the Access Centre for Students with Disabilities, Counselling and Psychological Services, and Health Services.

Her goal is to support Concordia in building and nurturing a campus community that is thriving with health. Gaya sits on the Mental Health Commission of Canada’s Technical Committee for the development of a Canada-wide Standard for Post-Secondary Student Psychological Health and Safety, and is a member of a number of steering committees including the Best Practices Network in Canadian Higher Education and the Canadian Health Promoting Campuses Network.


Lauren Farley

Lauren Farley
Director, Residence Life

Lauren oversees the two units within Residence Life, which are student residence and summer accommodation. Student residences offers a living space to 900 students during the academic year on both the Loyola and Sir George Williams campuses. Summer accommodation transforms the Sir George Williams residence building into a summer hotel, which sees over 5000 guests from May to August.

The mission of Residence Life is to make Concordia a home where we support people to grow, connect with the community, and create positive change in the world.


D’Arcy Ryan

D’Arcy Ryan
Director, Recreation & Athletics


D’Arcy oversees varsity athletics and institution-wide recreational programming to encourage and promote health and wellness through participation.

His goals are to provide all current and future students with a sense of pride in their varsity teams and institution, as well as providing opportunities for inclusion, fun, and an active component to help enhance their time at the university.  Building a sense of community, connectedness and belonging through outreach and programming is also a goal of the department.


Andrew Woodall

Andrew Woodall
Dean of Students

Andrew and his team support student life as a core aspect of the university experience at Concordia by working with student leaders to involve students in myriad activities, promoting student engagement as an avenue to success, providing opportunities to engage in the larger community and recognizing that engagement.

Andrew also is responsible for the specific service delivery units such as the Sexual Assault Resource Centre, the Aboriginal Student Resource Centre, the Concordia Student Parent Centre and the Multi-faith and Spirituality Centre.
