Mission/mandate/about the organisation

Mouvement Perpétuel is an award-winning Montreal-based independent film, video, and new media production company specializing in arts programming. Co-directors Marlene Millar and Philip Szporer create impressionistic dance-media films, arts documentaries and multi-channel video installations, feature expansive choreographies and portraits of some of Canada/Quebec’s leading contemporary dancers and choreographers and from across cultures within the Americas, Europe and Asia. Viewers are invited into a deeply intimate tracing of the curvatures of rich human experience.

Context of the internship

In terms of organizational and administrative work, the intern would be working alongside the directors/producers of the independent arts-based film and media production team, Mouvement Perpétuel.

Tasks would include working on company archives, updating a database of the film collection, as well as all press and written materials. They would assist in coordinating and synthesizing documentary proposals to broadcasters, ideally in English, French, and possibly Spanish.

For promotion and dissemination purposes, the intern would assist in film festival coordination, educational outreach and social media engagement related specifically to recent dance films, documentaries and installation work.
