Infinithéâtre

Mission/mandate/about the organisation

Infinithéâtre stages exciting, entertaining, relevant theatre that explores and reflects the issues, challenges, and possibilities of contemporary Québec from the perspective of its diverse English-language community. Our work is driven by the fundamental belief that theatre that speaks to and about the lives, the hopes, and the challenges of its home community has the best possibility of creating an electric connection between stage and audience.

Infinithéâtre is the one theatre in Québec whose mission is to develop, promote, produce, and broker plays written or adapted by Québec writers and Indigenous writers from within the territory called Canada. We do this because we believe fundamentally that producing our own writers will generate subject matter and themes relevant to Montréal and Québec and result in the strongest possible engagement and live interaction with our audience.

Context of the internship

A core tenant of Infinithéâtre’s work is creating a safe place for young artists to learn and grow in the industry. We are happy to host interns that wish to learn about all aspects of the work needed to bring a new piece of theatre to the stage, be that artistic choices, budgeting and grant writing or in a more hands on way, working closely with our creative team. Perspective interns can expect to work closely with our team, gaining tangible knowledge and skills that transfer to all parts of the artistic milieu. As our team comes from a varied background, we are also happy to allow interns to connect with the Montreal theatre community.
