Mission/mandate/about the organisation:

Artch's mission is to professionalize emerging artists in their formative years. Artch offers training, mentoring, and an exhibition that takes place every year with a group of emerging artists. The exhibition takes place in September and is set in downtown Tio'tia:ke / Montréal.

This year will be the 5th edition and Artch has become a cultural hub where amateurs, professionals in the visual arts field and the public are gathered. The public space occupied by Artch becomes a promotional platform for artists in visual arts that represents an opportunity to exchange and network with peers.

By giving artists training and access to a network within the Montrealer artistic community, Artch aims at taking artists to the next level of their career. The project also seeks to attract new collectors and to initiate the public to the process of acquiring works of art while sustaining the artistic ecosystem in Montreal.

Context of the internship

We would like to offer an internship to someone who is interested in learning more about graphic design. That person will be working closely with our graphic designer on Artch's 5th edition visual identity, graphic chart, logos, and brand image. It can take the form of a 6 months internship working alongside the graphic designer to learn the key tools to graphic design including graphic design platforms, marketing and designing strategies and how those relate to the communication department. The internship will start in January 2022 and end in June 2022. It will be an opportunity to work with cultural workers and artists and see first hand how a contemporary art non profit organization works and designs its visual identity.
