Mossy Society

Mission/about the organisation

Mossy Society is an artist/activist collective dedicated to reparations and sustainable, collaborative artmaking. We partner with local grassroots organizations and individuals passionate about creating positive social change in order to connect one another, foster environments in which we can pleasurably co-create, and produce events that are interdisciplinary, cross-cultural, and filled with life..

Context of the internship

As the team of organizers/builders/makers we are carving out a system so that tasks are shared equitably and our needs are met as individuals/artists while the needs of the organization are also met. This work with Mossy Society, although it incorporates our artistic skillets, is outside of our practice and is an act of co-labouring in order to provide opportunities for local artists across many disciplines.

Roles include:

  • Grant writing,
  • Social media Management,
  • Communications,
  • Artist liaison.
