Position description
This is a posting for a 24-month Limited Term contract in the Department of Studio Arts. The successful candidate will be expected to teach courses in Drawing at the undergraduate and/or graduate level. Other responsibilities will include active involvement in committee and administrative work, advising and participating in reviews at the graduate level, as well as graduate student supervision with a focus on drawing-based practices and concerns.
Limited-term faculty members at Concordia University are full-time faculty whose primary duties include teaching and service, with no research obligations.
Qualifications and assets
Applicants for this position must have an MFA degree or equivalent, and ideally a minimum of two years university teaching experience. We are seeking candidates with a strong exhibition record, a substantial critical/theoretical background in drawing, and an advanced understanding of both extended and discipline-based approaches to contemporary studio practice. A knowledge of new media in relation to drawing would be an asset.

Studio Arts is the largest department in the Faculty of Fine Arts and enjoys a longstanding reputation as one of Canada’s foremost environments for the study and creation of visual art.
